We’ve all heard “just because it is natural doesn't mean it is safe or good for you.” 

And, well, I would agree with this in many ways. Certain “natural” things can be extremely harmful or down right dangerous. This applies to the foods we eat and the things we put on our skin. So the challenge becomes finding ways to make natural products safe. 

When developing natural skincare there are a ton of ingredients that are off limits from the get. Many of these include things like fragrance or traditional preserving agents that extend the life of a product and ensure it doesn’t get unsafe types of contamination from things like mold. 

Fortunately, there are new preserving agents that are derived from natural sources. And the one we picked has the added benefit of being non-irritating, which is VERY important because so many of my family members and customers have certain health concerns or very sensitive skin (myself included). 

Many natural skincare companies are using these as a better option when wanting to make natural products that are still safe. 

One ingredient we use is AMTicide Coconut and it is made by fermenting Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) fruit with Lactobacillus. It is actually a pretty nifty product. So if you’re checking out natural products you can find it by looking for: Lactobacillus (and) Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Fruit Extract.
